Beautiful camera, but 30k $ is quite beyond reason.

I was at the opening of the new Leica store at the Daimaru shopping centre next to Tokyo station. This is where the Leica M9-P Hermes edition was launched. In Japan a standard M9-P is about JPY800000 and a standard black Noctilux 0.95 is about JPY1100000, so about JPY 1.9 million for the set versus JPY2625000 for the white (Hermes) leather version with special silver version Noctilux (originally also sold with a limited version M9 for the Austrian market). What all of this means is that you will pay about a JPY700000 premium for the different leather and colorers of this version (plus the prestige value of owning one). That is about a 37% premium over the standard. Don't forget that this is also a quick and immediate way to get a Noctilux 0.95 for which some has waited for more than a year after ordering.

ridiculous. Oskar Barnack and Ernst Leitz are turning over in their graves.
