TypeIsDimensional_childers4

TypeIsDimensional_childers4

The fourth of 4 examples were used in my ATypI talk from 2010 in Dublin Ireland called All Type is Dimensional.
These designs from 2010 are humanist letters rendered as dimensional ribbon forms to illustrate Gerrit Noordzij's
concept of "interrupted hand" calligraphic writing.

TypeIsDimensional_childers2-4 were created using the 3D modeling application Maya by Josh Treiber under my direction.

Thanks_childers

Thanks_childers

Thanks is the word "Thanks" comprised of duplex paper (made from red and white paper) cut into strips rolled into the shape of Thanks written in a cursive manner.
Along with the "Thanks" there are segments of letter strokes interspersed throughout the design.
