#gcconf TRON

Generation Conference 2011. This is the first time in 5 years that I haven’t taken all of the photographs of the conference, because of the wedding I shot yesterday. I probably would have posted a photo from each day of the conference if I had but am happy that things got mixed up more then what I expected.

Look forward to seeing all the conference photos soon on GC's flickr

The 2nd night of conference featured a dance by Tyson Edwards who I featured in my 365 on day 20 and my roomie Daniel Dorsey who I featured on day 4. They are both incredible dancers with distinct styles and collaborated with Ian Schober who is soon to be in my 365. The collaboration is a Tron inspired dance to a mix of Skrillex and Justice. The suits were custom made and extremely awesome. When they came out on the stage I was so excited, and nervous. Then disaster struck and Tyson’s suit decided to malfunction. It’s crazy because 2 seconds before they walked out onto the stage Tyson’s suit was working perfectly, but being the professional that Tyson is, he danced anyways. After the dance was over the crowd started a “one more time” chant, but backstage Ian and Jon Fouquier were rushing to try and fix the suit, but unfortunately the suit was broken beyond Unprofessional repair, so the night went on without an encore. They announced that Daniel and Tyson would be performing the dance at the morning session on Saturday. That night the suit was fixed and was working fine before the performance. 10 seconds into the rebate, Tyson’s suit malfunctioned AGAIN! Dan had to dance solo again and for the second time the crowd was left broken hearted. That night at the Saturday night service they went for a 3rd and final performance. This time was a success, both suits worked perfectly and it was a truly epic experience. Daniel said the anticipation of the performance kept building and building and finally when it worked, the feeling was an unexplainable moment. Dan said that everyone back stage shouted in excitement after they came off the stage. I was unfortunately not able to experience the final performance but I was lucky enough to photograph Tyson and Daniel doing a dress rehearsal before Friday nights live dance when the suits were both working. It’s so exciting that everything worked out after all their hard work and preparation, such an amazing accomplishment to Ian Schober, Daniel Dorsey and Tyson Edwards!
