It was rather hard not to notice Alice. When I walked by, it still took me a second to realize that she was my now-or-never moment of the day. I immediately approached her. I said, with all the charm I could muster, how I could not help but notice her vibrant personality.

Alice was friendly and listened to me babble on about this little project. She agreed to have her picture taken, but also told me right away that she was used to being photographed and that she wanted to see the picture right away.

We took some that she didn't like because of the light, and tried some others that suited her. The whole exchange took about 2 minutes, but felt like an eternity.

I asked her about her current occupation; she had been working as a TV anchor woman and an actress, both of which she has retired from now. Thank you so much.

I was late, Georg was late, he had a cup of hot coffee (which is on the other picture, note to self: improve compositional skills) I had nearly lost motivation for this project. It get's hard when you have such high standards through other people's work, and so little time and skill to live up to them.

In this case, I went for the 'against bright background' fire and forget approach. I tried to get my subject to look sideways, but it's hard for people not to look at you when they have been confronted with a new experience only seconds before. Plus, I didn't feel like the commanding type that early. Thanks again, George. He does funerals, by the way,

Ok, I missed one. I was at the Mad Men theme party last night, taking pictures. It's a lame excuse, but honestly: I couldn't be bothered to talk up some stranger after taking pictures for hours.

Most photos were taken either on request, or, more often, when the moment was right. Party pictures.

This image was different; I had seen her at the same party before, and already tried to snatch a pic, but it didn't work. So yesterday I told her that I was going to take another one later on. The guy didn't look like he was going to enjoy me small talking, so I let them carry on instead.
Oh, her name is not Molly, but she reminds me of Molly Ringwald.
