Old Building, New Roof![]() Last weekend I went to the Smithsonian American Art Museum/National Portrait Gallery to see the new Robert and Arlene Kogod Courtyard. The building was the original US Patent Office, and a National Historic Landmark -- it now houses two different Smithsonian museums (including a very nice Bierstadt [Photo Credit: Ken Rahaim, Smithsonian Institution]). The new courtyard was designed by the same firm that did the new Reichstag dome, as well as the British Museum Great Court.
Originally this was in color, but the lights made all kinds of reflections, so I played around with the channel mixer and came up with this. As always, viewing on black is recommended. [Note: Welcome DCists! I mostly deal in landscapes, but I do have some more local shots, or you can check out my most popular] Commentsjaovandelagemaat
