Done thinking. Brain just exploded, or better yet, imploded. Ah well, titles are overrated anyway.

Somewhere in Amsterdam with Kees Smans

A few news items:
1. I took 1st place with my Frozen Music series images at the 2011 International Photography Awards last month.
2. I have planned some workshops in Europe and in North and South America next year. I'll be doing them with other award-winning photographers.
3. I'm still thinking of a title for this photo...

    Would love to know if you got this right first time! The balance of tone in the sky so that it's lightest right at the apex of the buildings is quite mesmerising. That and the "brick-like" stacking of the buildings - truly architectural!

    I think I got it first time right for this one, but it's surely not always like that. But I have to say that I often don't need more than 2 shots to get it right. But I spend a lot of time setting up the shot: a bit to the left, a bit to the right, level it, etc. That part takes me 15 to 30 minutes on average. Then I just wait patiently for the right moment before I push the button. All in all it takes me 30 to 45 minutes to take just 1 shot.

    Yeah, Tunnel Vision is perfect, that's all I see - there's a kind of whirlpool going on at the top which is hypnotizing. Amazing!
