Heather skeins after 15 minutes!

I compared first which is the difference between urine-washed and ammonia-washed yarn dyed in stainless steel and cast iron cauldron. There wasn't any difference between urine and ammonia, but heather, which was cooked 3 hours in stainless cauldron gave a (waited) strong yellow colour when heather cooked 4 hours in iron cauldron gave a dark olive green colour.

Because we didn't have a big iron pot, I dyed my hand-spun yarn in a stainless steel pot, but added iron vithrill for last 15 minutes. The colour is much lighter than in my experiment, but was probably possible to get during iron age too.
