My first 10K race

My training for my first marathon, the Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon this October, advanced another step last Sunday morning when I competed in my first 10K race. I hadn't competed in a race since "track and field day" when I was an elementary student so it was a fascinating experience to be a complete newbie at something. I got there very early so I didn't even attach my race number until I saw how some of the other runners wore theirs. I went out a little too fast, but I finished strong and felt good. I think I'll try a couple more races before the marathon.
