Sensitive PlantIn order to view this Flickr video, you'll need to install the latest version of the Adobe Flash Player. Carlyn and I encountered this interesting plant on our visit to a coffee grower near Kona on the Big Island. It's called the Sensitive Plant (Mimosa pudica). Our tour guide, a young high school, pointed it out and said that she loved the plant as a kid. I was immediately fascinated, so I used the video features of my new Canon G9 to grab some quick footage. Apparently this plant is native to central america and is now officially a weed in Hawaii. It's still cool though.

Cool, I did a project on these in college and was really happy when I found a few on Kauai!
