Logos, Round 2

So, we are resurrecting our logo debate.

Awhile ago I posted a potential new logo for Park, and it didn't fly, and we've been in process of trying to come up with some different options.

Quick rundown of "who we are"...
- 20 year old church, downtown Chicago
- average age is 29
- 70% singles
- most people are educated professionals
- urbanites to the core
- moving into our first building, a renovated warehouse
- need a facelift

With our new logo, we didn't want something that was overtly religious looking. We just wanted something that would be clean and representative of who we are, and possibly have some sort of reference to Chicago.

The four options above are from 2 different designers... 1 who attends our church and another who is contracted out to help us with our web re-design.

I'm totally curious for your feedback... and no, I won't tell you which one I like!

i love the simplicity of the name "park chicago" but i don't think it conveys that you're a church... which may or may not be good in your eyes. (i like it)

1 is good concept, but it seems too trendy to be lasting.
I love 2, but the c and p are in reverse order which throws me off.

anyway, 3 or 4.

Like them all, but I'd favor Option 4. Love the skyline and the equalizer style.

I'll refrain from any obvious "This is Spinal Tap" references that are just begging to be said.

I like the look of 4 better, but would be inclined to go with 3 because I could see using the "P"-in-the-circle-thing on its own without the church name more than I can the image in option 4.

These are certainly not religious looking, I worry a bit that no one would even guess you're a church with these. I like some of the marks, I'm just not sure how well they will resonate as a church logo.

#4 is cool, but looks more like a club logo, if you are a very musically driven church this could work but really needs church underneath

#3 is a bit dated and actually reminds me of a parking garage

#2 is very cool (of course I like that mark just look at my logo) but you're name would need to be Community Park for it to really work.

#1 might have possibilities as a concept, but just isn't working well right now

a couple of notes on #4... we would add "community church" to it ... and as we go multisite, we'd replace "community church" with "Lincoln Park", "South Loop", etc... defining which areas of town they are in.

if you plan to go multisite, keep in mind how you want to incorporate that in the end. make sure the site name will work when it needs to be added.

I like the concept of one, especially since you can see the John Hancock from the new location. Am I right about that?

I like two, but I think it needs some work. I like the concept of speech bubbles and churches. I like that it has PC in it, but it is very cryptic. I think you should play with that and try to make it a little more obvious, without making it cheesy. I would also move around PCC on that one to try and make it a little more balanced.

Just my thoughts.

great work. love these... 1 seems it would be better suited for a ministry. 2. I like a lot, but seems more corporate 3. great perfect 4. as everyone seems to agree might be the keeper. I love it!

I think #4 is probably the way to go. I like #3, but it feels more like something for a communications company, or something like Kinkos...maybe just me though.

You can have a ton of fun with #4 in the branding...those dots can make up different items, you can change out colors, lots of legs....

#2 and change your name to community church park
#3 I don't know, but I don't like the devilisch ears/horns on everything, or is it just me.
#4 change the size of the k (it seems a bit small compared to the p and a, change to the color green or nr 2 and I am sold... ;)
