I was sitting at a picnic table in my camp site reading. There were wild turkeys running around for several days. A turkey got my attention so I turned my head and spotted a Mother Raccoon. She was eating nuts that had fallen from the large old oak trees. She allowed me to take some photos from about 12 feet. Then she climbed up the oak tree and soon I noticed four young raccoons.
The family of raccoons allowed me to take photos of them for about 90 minutes. This was during the mid afternoon in sunny daylight. At one point I turned and noticed a White Tailed Deer about 50 feet from me. She was looking towards me and stooping her right hoof on the ground. I know she wanted me to leave the area but I was watching the raccoons. Soon the deer ran off making a loud grunting noise. This scared the five raccoons and they all climbed quickly up the closest oak tree. They rested in the tree for about 40 minutes before coming down to walk off in a large field.
