cover to spiral-02
This is spiral-08-z-42 of the set spiral-02 being used as its cover image.
All images in this set are 1366x768 px. They were made with Fractal eXtreme. The palette used has at index 10 RGB of 255, 154, 255, index 33 RGB of 0,101,0, index 78 RGB 154, 248, 255, index 124 RGB of 0, 54, 54, index 169 RGB of 255,201,154, 211 RGB 154, 0, 54, index 237 RGB 255, 134, 255 and a cycle speed of 28. The color mapping has an offset of 55, speed of 6.22, and an acceleration of 1 (no acceleration), and interpolate colours is set to true.
In essence, if the smallest image were the size of your screen the largest would be on the order of the distance light travels in a thousand years, and it would be one continuous image where each of the others image in the set is a view of it at different scales. These are all relatively easy to get at even with a fairly basic home computer. If you choose to replicate the images, modify the palette and colour mapping to your liking. What I found works for me in the sense that it can be applied uniformly, helps identify interesting areas worth zooming into, and typically results in aesthetically pleasing images.
