Old Donegal Town Postcard

Tawnwilly RC Chapel
Church of Ireland
Methodist Church
Cousin's house
Courthouse
Duffy's Cafe.
Pub. Forget the name of it, but they used to have an old Irish Wolfhouse sleeping on step when I used to walk home from school. The dog was taller than me at the time!
Caldwells
McIntyres
The Cinema. Used to be a Chapel before the Chapel to the right was build (I think). The cinema's been closed for years, and only recently was knocked down for a huge (for the street) office building.
Our house was here.
The Bluestack Pub.
The Secondary School. Now moved out to the Ballyshannon Road.
Dr. Brown's House?
The Old Castle is hidden behind these trees
Used to be the priests house. Which is now a newer house behind the chapel.

A friend (Zack) was raised here, looks like his wasn't even built when this picture was taken.
Old Donegal Town Postcard by bettlebrox.
Taken sometime in the late 1960's or early 1970's. A friend had this pinned on the back of his bathroom door. I have a copy that I just found that I'll scan if anyone wants a better quality pic?

It is a very nostalgic impression.
In a gentle shade, I like it.

The original pic is years old, and the postcard maker highlighted it with fake colours for some reason. The grass is too green and the houses are all the wrong colours, but it's a great look into how Donegal Town looked about 30 years ago
It's changed a bit since then, gotten bigger. But in the next few years all those fields in the back of the pic to the right will become a shopping center (mall) ....
