More New Orleans flooding

    This photo was part of the morning brief the Commandant of the Coast Guard received 31 August 2005. Residents of New Orleans walk through their flooded city, carrying belongings in an attempt to keep them dry.

    Please note: while this photo was used in a brief to the Commandant, there's an excellent chance the junior officer who built the brief took it off the wire. I didn't take it. It's likely copyrighted. I post it here under "fair use" and as a public service, letting you -- the public -- know about the dire situation in New Orleans.
