Seedlings Common chickweed
Taken with Nikon Coolpix 995 on tripod. As a note: The seed on top of the seedling is approx. 1 mm. in diameter. I germinated these Common chickweed seeds to make a photograpical journey in the life of this species; this is the first picture and was taken 7 days after sowing. The seed right in the foreground is Scentless mayweed (Tripleurospermum inodorum)
Hurray...this is my first picture to be viewed over a 100 times! It was definitely the picture with the most effort put in.

Beautifully done. I like the way the one on the left is still wearing its 'hat'.

Hi AsialsGreen,
You're welcome. Just one comment..I would appreciate it if you could link the photo through to this page, rather than a copy of the photo on your blog. Is that alright with you?
Thanks, Tico.

Very gentle and compelling at the same time. I hope you've received an award. This is my first time on Flickr and do not quite know how to go about this. I did not see a private contact. May I use it in a winter solstice piece I have created? I will send it in a PDF to an email list (about 250 people) today, December 20 or tomorrow, December 21, 2010. The piece is about our dreams as seeds.
"Winter chill is creeping as our bodies turn to sleeping. Wake up! You’ve not been invited to abandon your quest. You may say, “But its been a long year, I need a rest, at least let me close my eyes.” Then take hold–we need your dreaming so plow your fertile heart. It is your part, to give the world your gift. Like Gaia–rejuvenate. She does not hesitate to hold her seeds in high respect. So don’t neglect your dreams, treat them kindly like a seedling and let them lay deeply during the dark, wintry days. Fertilize with passion and desire, in turn they’ll light your fire and bring ideas to inspire the new year. Once again we experience the long night. And the Winter Solstice bends time to remind that we have the Light within to do what is right to create a World that contains splendor, goodwill and where love shines bright."

hi bettesteflik, on the right hand side of each and every photo uploaded to Flickr is License information (under the 'Owner settings' heading). This will tell you whether, and if so under what conditions, you can use that particular image. The licence for this image is: 'Attribution, Noncommercial, No Derivative Works', so as long as you don't intend to use it for commercial purposes then you can use it but you should attribute it to me, i.e. --Tico--, please do so by just including the url / hyperlink.
best wishes, Tico

Congratulations on receiving more than 10,000 views, that's quite impressive! Now that you've reached this milestone, you might want to consider graduating this photograph from the 'Views: 5000' group to the 'Views: 10000' group, which can be found here: www.flickr.com/groups/views10000/

Once again, congratulations and hopefully your photos will receive many more views in the future!

About Views 5000
Must have 5000 views when added to the pool, but not more than 6000, anything goes.
This is not a minimum-group. (Admin)
--Tico-- (26 months ago | reply)
hi pks, when mlhradio commented it was in the Views: 5000 group. I intended to move it from the Views: 5000 to Views: 10000 group but for some reason, rather than removing it from the Views: 5000 group, I got a pop-up messag saying it was pending approval.
I don't understand that as it was already in there. I then removed it seconds later. Anyways.

I'd like to use this image in a presentation i'm giving in Cambodia on composting. May i?
--Tico-- (18 months ago | reply)
hi, yes, no problem. Strictly speaking you can go ahead and do that without asking my permission because I have set the licence such that it allows you to do that.
