Blackberries

Just to collect about 50 blackberries to take these pictures I must have been scratched by 100 thorns.

it's a pleasant shot but it lacks the wow factor that would make it a hit for me. it's slightly blur and maybe if you
(1) shoot it much closer to capture more detail or
(2) illuminated the subject with light coming for the side or
(3) if you had a little more color eg a green leaf or a red cherry atop the berries, i'd have loved the color contrast

it does seem blurry, doesn't it? that's the low light condition in which i shot, however, there was light from the side, just apparently not enough for an appropriate shutter speed to hand hold and shoot this shot.

I have to agree with the sharpness as discussed above
it also seems like the lighting is not quite there
It looks like it is natural light and that may not have been enough
pretty shot
they look yummy

While the picture seems to be out of focus generally, the bunch in the middle is crisp...which gives the feeling that its floating in a blur...

I should have commented before reading the other comments. My first impression was good, but I have to agree with the other comments on the blurryness. If this were my shot I probably would have sharpened it and boosted the saturation. I give you a hit because you're on the right track.

A little blurry. I don't like the crop, maybe because that one big berry is right smack int he center. Only a little of the berries are cropped out (on the top), so either chop off more or show all of it. I think I'd probably zoom out a little and reposition the bowl in the corner of the photo, and with a little more depth of field. Unless you want to go for more detail then I'd just go closer and crop more of the sides of the bowl and berries.

I like the dof...maybe you could have moved a little closer to frame only the fruit or further back and include a secondary point of interest.

hi nerveblood-- maybe the previous photo in the photostream would have been better for you?

i'm still learning this new macro lens, and i haven't even begun to learn about flashes, although I did try with this and didn't like the results so i opted for raising the ISO (although not enough).

I think most of the comments are the same criticisms I have about my own photo.
