Don DeLillo reads from "Mao II" at a benefit to support the Belarus Free Theater in New York City on January 19, 2011. The theater company narrowly escaped Belarus to perform here.

The Belarus Free Theater performs at great risk to itself and even its audiences in Belarus. Amnesty International and PEN are working to support the theater and the freedom of Belarusians in general, particularly after the recent (and ongoing) crackdown there.
