The Alien landed...
Kunsthaus - Graz (Graz Art Museum) was built as part of the European
Capital of Culture celebrations in 2003 and has since become an
architectural landmark in Graz, Austria.
Its unusual architecture differs radically from conventional
buildings, many of which maintain the traditions of the modernist
"White Cube". The team of architects used an innovative
stylistic idiom, known as blob architecture within the historical
ambiance of the "Murvorstadt". Thus, the gigantic building
called the "Friendly Alien" by its creators Peter Cook and
Colin Fournier, in form and material, stands out against the
surrounding baroque roof landscape with its red clay roofing tiles but
nevertheless integrates the façade of the 1847 iron house.
The picture was taken from the castle mountain ("Burgberg").

It looks more like a Whale landed in your town.
Or perhaps a broken off tentacle of a giant octopus.
Yes, I'm seeing sea creature here.
Yes, perhaps for most the most alien of all.
Excellent, unusual architecture.
Thank you for presenting it.

I truly believe in an artist pushing the bounds of his creativity. For some reason, however, I find buildings like this to be displays of arrogance. Unlike art in a gallery, or a sculpture, looking away is impossible. And it stands out like a boil.

Dear Sir,
I'm making a book titled "Facades buildings". I think it would be really interesting for readers to include the following images in the title, therefore I ask you permission to reproduce them in my work. I assure sources and references will be regularly and clearly quoted in the book.
Best regards,
