Jackson's Haircut

This is my son Jackson's art that he decided to make this afternoon. He asked me if I'd take a photo of him with it which I did. He is four. His hair looks funny right now because on Friday he decided to give himself a haircut with a pair of scissors and chopped off a good chunk of his bangs. These artists and their statements.

When I first started to take the photo I asked him to remove the leaves that are in the upper right hand corner of the shot. Jackson's reply to me was no that they were part of his art project, so they are left in.

such innocence in his art, it has yet to be corrupted by the evils in the world. or just a cute kid with some sidewalk chalk. either way i love the picture.

I like his work. Heh. Don't like many "my cute kid" pics, but this one has strong composition, great petulant expression, a lovely subtle ice-cream toned palette, and a slight rotational skewing that makes it visually interesting.

      Save.

Jackson has a decidedly linear point of view. Knowing that he may cause Thomas to flood the world with compelling cute kid pictures makes me quake. So with due caution to Thomas that he is setting a very high bar for Jackson's photo future, I say this goes in the Safe.

I particularly like how the top of his head bucks the symmetrical framing. Nice.

Absolutely superb composition but there's something about the colour that's bothering me. I've fiddled with my monitor but it still seems to have a distracting, slightly blue cast to it t. I think a slightly tweaked version would look even better so...

he is too cute... I am guessing he got his looks from his mom and haircutting skills from his dad...

I also like the pattern of the chalky bricks.. reminds me of african textiles... nice shot
