I think I speak for all of us plane spotters when I would like to send our sincere sympathy to all of those who are facing personal loss in the aircraft disaster in Madrid on August 20, 2008. We are thinking of you at this very difficult time.

This is one of nine MD-82 that Spanair was operating until today (20.08.08) - one of them (EC-HFP "Sunbreeze") was involved into a severe accident in Madrid Barajas (flight JK5022) that has caused a terrible death toll of more than 150 passengers and crew members.

It carries the typical Spanish name "Sunspirit".

This is flight JK126 to Madrid.

You can see line number 1690 of all DC-9/MD-80/-90 built aircraft. It was delivered to China Eastern 30.04.91 as B-2137, had the registration EI-CTF beginning 05.99 and went into service for Spanair 07.08.99.
