(Sorry for the unimaginative title!)
I finally got the bright sunlight I needed to really try out the D70 with an IR filter. I normally use a Sony for IR shots: the D70 really needs a lot of sunlight for IR to work.
This magnificent tree was a great subject. I wanted to capture the sense of how broad the canopy was, so I shot from below it to give that sense of it arching over you (there were also people at the base of the tree that I wanted to leave out of the image, so I couldn't go closer).
The building on the left, and crane on the right were in because I couldn't keep them out of the frame, but in the end I decided they helped give a sense of context to the tree.
The dark tones in the image seemed to demand a black background instead of the usual white as well. Probably best viewed large.
