Look at those massive stone piers.
I just recently found this beautiful little neighborhood. These bungalows are all part of the Menand Park Historic District, in Menands, NY, which apparently was an early, bunglow-centric development just a few miles outside of Albany, NY.
Quite a little collection of bungalows on two streets. More than half of them have had their porches enclosed, or worse, have been well-clad in white aluminum or vinyl siding. But the few that remain unadulterated show some bungalow styles I haven't seen often around here. Others are nice versions of more common styles, but when grouped together like this and surrounded by stately old trees, they really sing.
