Five Minutes on I-69

Five Minutes on I-69 by Everett White.
A five-minute exposure, looking northbound on Interstate 69 from the Wallen Road bridge.

I've been toying with night photography lately.

Does the D200 have a "digital cable release" for this or did you just have to set the 5EV I see in the EXIF?

Very nice. Do you have a tripod recommendation? That one works!

@Mars: It was difficult finding a photogenic section of this highway lol!

@MK: I set the 5EV myself, and used a digital shutter release remote, with locking button.

@MikeHedge: I used a Nikon D200, set to "bulb" mode, which allows for super long shutter exposures, as long as the shutter release is held manually. I bought a remote for about $30 that plugs into the accessory jack on the front of the camera. The button allows you to press and lock, and because it was so cold outside, I got back in the car while I let it expose.

@Henry: This is actually an old, old tripod that I inherited from my parents. I'm sure it was made in the 1970s, but all the labels are now worn off. It's solid aluminum though, which is why I like it. It's solid!

You found a great spot on this one. Smart to get seated in the car again. It seems like it was not very busy for a highway. :P

Thanks Brian.

Wouter: it was late at night, and this highway isn't terribly busy after dark.
