Rochester residents build, sleep in cardboard shelters |
Oct. 16, 2009: In Rochester more than $17,000 was raised during the fifth-annual Cardboard Box City event, a program benefitting The Salvation Army, Interfaith Hospitality Network and Dorothy Day Hospitality House. About 200 area residents built and then slept in cardboard shelters to raise awareness about poverty, hunger and homelessness.
