Alameda, CA - September 2007. 1893 Queen Anne cottage. Hey, who wants to come over and trim those shrubs? They look terrible, but I'm not a gardener.....

Alameda House: Basement rises up out of the ground to be a platform and high stair.

You have a beautiful home. Neat neon shots too!
Do you guys ever tour anymore?? I still play but have no desire to pack up the van for a cross country band journey ever again!

Thanks!
Due to drummer drama and lack of label interest, we have only played local shows for several years. However, we have a new drummer now and we'll be going back out on the road at some point, for short trips.
Touring does lose some of it's charm when you're older, doesn't it? ; )

You got that right! after a dismal winter tour in 2002, I opted out of the touring business for good. Now well into my 40's, just dragging my stuff across town is a pain. My current band plays maybe a dozen shows a year. I still play with Dave, the most mellow drummer in the world.
It's super cold here!!

Nice. And the black cats net a high approval rating by my feline critics.

Eid Mubarak and Happy Ramadan! I so miss this porch!!! Tried sitting on mine but the stares I got (was out there without a scarf) made me most uncomfortable. I don't know enough Arabic to speak with any of my neighbors and they don't even say hello if I speak first as I am not like them. Very sad as you know I love my porch sitting. Maybe I can come back during our winter snows and make your yard pretty. It may take years, lol, I've been working on our sad little postage stamp since we moved in and it's finally looking like a yard. It was horribly abused before we moved in and the back yard had been totally dug up to put in new gas lines. But the glads bloomed beautifully as well as my morning glories, and assorted other wildflowers, and I've got about 10 tomatoes coming along and even some melons that I didn't plant found their place in the back yard. Mornings without a porch are the hardest. Oh yeah, I also do laundry very, very well, I'm an expert with an iron, vacuum pretty good, make good old fashioned coffee and given a cookbook I can make some pretty awful food. I have to say I'm a really good seamstress but I hate alterations or repairs, gotta make it from scratch. I'm good at ridding of pests, or making them pets, and your neighbors already like me. My foot will be fixed soon and I'm getting my implant so I can hear again and I'm pretty quiet most of the time. So, is January good for you and Pete?

Sure! We could use your help and many talents around here, since I failed Housewife 101 (one of the reasons why Pete does the cooking), although my vacuuming and dusting skills eventually became exceptional from lots of practice. I have piles of fabric and dozens of vintage dress patterns just waiting for someone who can actually sew! My mother tried to teach me Sewing 101 as a kid, but I was too busy being a tomboy and playing with dogs, chickens, horses and cats to pay much attention to "boring domestic stuff", something I now regret. My gardening skills are limited to I-don't-kill-the-roses-anymore; you and my dad both have a wonderful green thumb.
You are definitely welcome to come back any time--a California winter seems dramatic to us weather wimps, but would be perfectly tropical compared with the freezing, snowy, blizzardy stuff you have to cope with. And no scarf or headwear is required here. : )
