Tag is...
1. a perpetual puppy. Despite being 5 years young, he's never going to grow up.
2. happy-go-lucky. Living in the moment, he has no concept of the future or the past.
3. a snuggle bug. He will lay with you, cuddling and being your Tag blanket as long as you want to pet him.
4. a noise maker. He moans, groans, sighs, whines, barks and generally is making some sound at all times.
5. shallow. He is focused on his needs and could care less about anyone else. His favorite word is MINE.
6. a velcro puppy. He is happiest when he's near his mom and has no interest in other people -- unless Mercury is getting attention he decides he needs.
7. adaptable. He can adjust to environment and lifestyle changes with ease.
8. neurotic about his "bathroom" duties. He circles endlessly to get into his squat to pee and if it's not just perfect he'll hold it for hours rather than go. He stands outside in the rain and glares rather than get busy if it's raining.
9. oversensitive about his body. He'll lick and itch a wound obsessively, he tries to run away or brush off any clothing he's forced to wear. He'll yank seeds, grasses and branches out of his own fur, but if he can't fix it he'll hang-dog his way over to mom.
10. the best brother Mercury could ever have. They are opposites and yet perfect for each other.

Mercury was tagged by Lucky and Caroline
Mercury is...
1. an old soul in his new body. Even as a puppy he behaved as if he was just getting reacquainted with the world.
2. overly fond of ice cream. So fond, in fact, that mom gave him his very own ice cream maker for his 6th birthday.
3. a social butterfly. His dream job would be the greeter at Walmart. His favorite day of the week is Monday because he's always eager to see his co-workers.
4. afraid of just about everything that is out of the ordinary. If he's afraid of a person or dog he barks. If he feels threatened he hides behind his mom. He takes slow motion fear movement to the extreme and freezes into a Mercury statue.
5. convinced that his mom has forgotten that there are chewy bones in her bottom desk drawer that need gnawing. He bumps the drawer with his nose whenever he enters the room. He takes the art of begging to new heights, and will modify his technique, trying every strategy and inventing new ones in hopes of success.
6. in love with chasing jackrabbits. He might even do this given a choice between ice cream or an open field. He only gets to do this about once a year now since the fields we used to go to are all torn up with construction. We miss "yippee" bunny barking.
7. a creature of habit and likes to know what is expected of him. Although he trusts mom, he'd rather not do things that are different.
8. almost night-blind and has night lights to help him navigate about the house. Because he doesn't see well in low-light he would rather not go to the park until the sun is well up.
9. very sensitive. He is concerned about world peace. Don't upset him, he remembers and holds grudges. He also hates to be naughty, and rarely has to be told hunh-un. He's probably heard the word "no" less than a fifty times in his 6 years, and never in a raised voice. Sensitive!
10. the best brother Tag could ever have. They are opposites and yet perfect for each other.

Love Me?
Merc likes the new kitten for the most part, but he really is not happy with the tension between the cats or the corrections that ensue. He's just a bit more needy for affection these days.
