Purple and Orange Starfish on the Beach

    A foreign woman ran up to me and put it in my hand and said "Here you go, starfish, be happy! be smiley!"

    This is the Royal Starfish.

    The Astropecten articulatus.

      Around 30 years ago I found a dead one washed up on Ponte Vedra Beach in Florida. {"That's about 30 miles south of Jacksonville, Florida!") "I have the starfish today!" After all those years; the colors have faded over the years, it's about half as colorful now, in away that's what time will do to many things, fade the colors, the memories are bight as the day I found a Royal Starfish when walking a shoreline on that stormy day many years ago.
