mustard gingham

mustard gingham by marie emily.
here is my freshly finished (well, almost finished... there's still a little hand stitching to do) blouse. it's from the japanese stylish dress book (again) (pattern T). the neck is so neat on this one...

the gingham is a thrifted sheet & the contrast fabric around the neck & sleeve-ends is some pretty stuff i got along with the japanese pattern book. I shortened it, but i'll probably make it again dress-length.

i think this turned out pretty good... so light & spring-timey. now all i need is... spring!

p.s. big hands?

Really Pretty. I'll bet you'll wear it a lot. Will you always wear it with jeans? You've done a great job of the neckline and your print has worked perfectly. Did you interface the neckline?

Ohh, it is lovely, I'm so in love with mustard at the moment, I'm off to see if you mention what Japanese book this one is from.

Joyflea: thanks so much!

simple moth: thanks for the invite! i like being part of this group.

juju loves polka dots: thanks! i'm wearing it right now & i foresee lots of future wears... so comfy! i did interface the neckline. hmmm... yeah, i'll probably always wear it with jeans, or some skinny corduroys, perhaps.

threeredbuttons: thank you! i'm totally gravitating toward everything mustard-colored, too. well, except mustard. here's the book i used (and where i bought it from).

Wow! This is just lovely!
You would feel like a happy little spring lamb on a farm in it.
I made a dress from the same fabric, and it looks like this.

Which size you made it in?

thank you Fräulein Piberger and glayla!

Julie, i made the smallest size (7, i think) and i took the side seams in a little, too... good thing i can still fit it over my head! the model in the book wears it a bit looser, though.

Thank you very much for the info then! I will be making the largest size, since I am nothing like thin. I hope it fits. I will show you when it's done!
