View on black please!
I don't usually take photos from plane windows, but this scene was one to persuade me!
We'd taken off from Ljubljana airport just before sunset (at least sunset on the ground…). Just as we were taxiing to the runway, the pilot said, "Anyone with a window seat is going to be in for a treat in about ten minutes". Sure enough, I looked out the window once we got to cruising altitude and it was jaw-dropping.
The sun was really low and casting massive shadows across the Alps / Julian Alps range. In between the mountain peaks, you got these long light rays and a whole misty feel. The mountains just kept going on as far as the eye could see.
I know that the sun is blown out and that you can see some cabin reflections, but I just needed to let you see half of what I saw. What an end to a trip.
I've been told that it looks a lot like China and I know what people mean, but I'm yet to see for myself. Hopefully next year!
This looks much nice larger on black.
