View on black please!

I love doing the odd monochrome and also one of my usual looking up at tall buildings, but I think this is the first time I've combined them. I also think this is my first square format. I had a sudden urge at the weekend to process everything in black and white and/or square format. I may or may not put some of these up.

This was during a photowalk with vulture labs and, believe it or not, was taken on a very sunny Friday evening. Even with a 10 stop ND filter and shooting at f/20, I still needed a long exposure of around half a minute. I really like the feel of this photo; it was exactly what I had in mind when I was shooting it. Quite an eerie or foreboding sense to the image, but with a little bit of hope, perhaps represented by the lone light.

This looks so much cooler on black. (Press L)

P.S. I'm thinking about getting a second hand Canon 5D MKII and a Canon 17-40mm L lens. Anyone use this combo or lens? Worth it?

Is it the Shell Building? I took a few of this last week but nothing as impressive as this!
