the door to nowhere

the door to nowhere by TheDamnMushroom.
One interesting feature about several of the oldest buildings in Tacoma is that, predating some of the streets being laid, several have closets or tunnels that go under existing streets and possibly connect to the Chinese Tunnels or the underground steambath, both of which are said to be located nearby. The Luzon, at the Pacific Avenue level, has this door-sized hole and a truck-sized patch a few feet to the right.

Do let me know when you remove the boards so you can do them in comfort... I have a few projects of my own for what's behind them. :)

Oh man, I only wish I had the guts/macho-ness to take them down! I caught a quick glance before they put them up... didn't see any tunnels, but like I said, it was only a quick glance ;) (Oh, and I don't know if you noticed, but if you climb up to the Commerce side of where the building was, there are some of those "sidewalk lights", a fair number of them broken. I tried sticking my camera in but my flash was too weak to get much of anything. Maybe you would have better luck?)
