So I've been meaning to upload this for a while now. Unfortunately I left it a little too long and my album is becoming a little worse for wear.
Still, why not score yourself a copy? Luke Webb's myspace is here. You can buy a copy there through Paypal.
As for why I'm uploading this to my flickr site? Well, aside from a single photo in a magazine article, this is the first time one of my photos has been used for major commercial use....I took the original on a Pentax 645n with a 75/2.8 and Kodak Vericolor 160 that expired in 1993, rated at EI50. The same time I took this and this.

When I was very young, I seem to remember this fan being at my Nan's. But then, when I was young I also remember it being at our house too. It goes around in a circle instead of up and down so my brother and I, who shared a room, used to argue about how to set it.
This summer it moved to my house from my parents. It still reminds me of my Nan. A companion to the chair.

There is something about minimalist ceramics that just captures my heart. It's a joy to hold, to savour a fine beverage from, and looks great just on it's own.
By the same token, using a large format camera with 120 film still allows for that creamy focus so often identified as a LF characteristic. It's only when you look extremely hard that you can see the focus point on the highlight of the handle and the front of the saucer.
Sure there is loads of art based theory I could expound upon in regards to my choice of subject, the tones and why I presented it as I have, but ultimately it functions mainly as an artifact of my life.

Yes I was too lazy too clean the mirror.
Yes I should have corrected the verticals considering I was using a camera capable of this.
Yes my mutton chops are sexy.
Yes I am married.
