Portrait of an Owl (Strix varia)I love his face. He looks a lot cuter in the image than he did in real life - then he was wild, forminable, an animal at the top of his food chain.
![]() I only really started appreciating my 70-300mm the day I took this photo, frozen fingers and toes and all. I just noticed this fellow on my way back home - he was sitting on his tree all quiet-like, just after sunset, peering around him looking for mice and other things to eat. Very handsome beast.
