I am re-posting this image since I was not happy with how I processed it a few months ago. Image taken at the Street Wheelers Event during the car show in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada this past summer.
I so appreciate the dedication that these men and women put into their cars and trucks for people like me to a admire. It is a long process in some cases too. One owner I talked to said that it took him 13 years to finish his truck.....13 years! and then he spends his weekends entering his truck in various shows in Western Canada.
When I can, I get their email addresses and send them their pictures. I wish I had done this with this couple.
Originally I made this from 3 bracketed images (0+2-2) but found the process "de-ghosting" all the people moving was too much to create a nice image....so, I took the "0" exposed image and made 4 more copies of it. Once I had the 5 total images I went into the RAW images and adjusted the exposures so that I had images (0+1+2-1-2).
I looked at this as an experiment and processed all 5 images through Photomatix and then into Photoshop (LAB colour) as well as Topaz for denoising.
There was quite a bit of pixelation so I added some blur and used a mask to blur only the parts I wanted.
...in the end, this image turned out much better than the old HDR version made from 3 exposures.
