not directed at anyone... I was inspired by my teenager-neice and her pack of uncannily similar friends. They flip the bird in every pic -- aparently it gives them a sense of power. Is this powerful? What kind of power is it?

Plus when you cross your fingers like a fist you wake up the feeling of muscles. And with one standing out…that’s the freedom and the braveness of expressing.

About the shot…the hair is excellent and so beautiful…love your hair-cut…the look in the eye underneath the hair is amazing. And that light on your arm add a lot to the shot to make it not flat…..good “ONE”

I suppose that it just reflects what flickr is all about - freedom of expression, much like the picture.

i wrote four lines about her question and the finger...but since she shows something else as well in the shot....it means she wanted us to see it too, otherwise she could have just shot a finger and doesn't have to fix her hair or wear accessories.

Heh. Almost every picture of me from high school was just like this one. I don't think it had anything to do with feeling I had power for me... It was more like "Life Sucks!!!" and it was just a knee-jerk reaction and minimal outlet of frustration/angst. Or something. :) Nice photo.
