Helosis Cayennensis (Balanophoraceae) Identified - Thanks to Natural History Museum London and confirmed indent from Thesion. This clump, the only one we have, flowers from December to February. Its' localtion is close to the river perhaps 20 feet.

This is Helosis cayennensis, a female inflorescence showing the peltate scales almost all fallen off revealing the mass of styles from the numerous tiny female flowers. Excellent photo!
