I took this shot as an example of human / technology interaction for possible inclusion in a book on the subject...

strobist: 430ex on full power into reflector to the right of the computer. i wanted it to look as natural as possible.

Your welcome... Also if you would like a little more drama "up to you" flag the background or wall from the main light source to make it be a little darker so your subject stands out more from the background. I will post an image so you can see kinda what I mean.

I like this shot - I don't think the kid really has to 'pop' from the background any more than he/she already does, although a greater depth of field would get the message of 'communication between man and machine' across better, in my opinion. (i.e. getting the computer in focus as well as the kid).

i used the shallow dof because of the natural look of the shot, if the whole thing was in focus it may have just looked like a snapshot taken with a point and shoot.
