I could see the dust cloud forming at the ground from several miles away. As I got closer the funnel began to move down and become more visible. It's not the big storms that I'd like to chase, but hey, capturing this from a big rig moving at 65 mph is pretty remarkable. I know I should have stopped, but the lightning was pretty bad in the area and I value my life… plus, I only stop the truck to load, unload, for fuel and bathroom breaks! So much for being a dedicated storm chaser!

Believe me… I wanted to stop and shoot some photos, but the lightning was so bad that I didn't want to get out of the truck.

Oh, and BTW: That was shot WIDE ANGLE while driving by… the base of the tornado was not very far off the road.
