Quilt front

Quilt front

Long overdue but here's the front of my first quilt. It's based on the Moda Bake Shop Squaredy Cat quilt pattern. www.modabakeshop.com/2011/05/squaredy-cat-quilt.html

Since I used Joann's discount fabric I needed 2 jellly rolls and my scant 1/4" seams were anything less than scant (or straight) so there was a bit of truing up to be done. I was in love with the colors in the store, hated them as I pieced the top and ended up loving it all together in the final quilt. It's going to be our cozy couch quilt once I'm done with the one for the bed! Now it's serving as a coverlet on the bed! There's two matching quilted throw pillows in the work to go with it.

Thanks to my pajama'd boyfriend for holding it up for me! He hates the colors but until he makes a better quilt it's gonna stay!

Tisket, tasket

Tisket, tasket

A lovely lined basket! I picked up the basket on sale from Michaels just before Christmas and whipped up a beautiful liner to replace the blah one that it came with. I wandered over to the blues and greens to find the perfect fabrics since this would be a gift for my cousin's new beach house and these two screamed "Pick us"

It wasn't till I got to the counter that I realized they were two bolts from Kate Spain's Fandango! That makes it an extra special coincidence since she's from Connecticut and that's where their beach house is! It's hard to tell but I also added a little pocket inside using the blue stripey print I used on the ties.

This was SO easy to make (this is my first basket liner ever) so I'll surely be replacing some of my storage bins with beautiful baskets soon! Baskets just make a place feel much warmer than white plastic.

Charming Terrain Squares

Charming Terrain Squares

It's a huge queen sized endeavor!

The design is based on the Moda Bake Shop Charming Stars quilt www.modabakeshop.com/2010/10/charming-stars-quilt.html but I've added a 5th row and column to make it queen sized and I'm expanding the outer border a hair too. About 10 of these star squares are stitched together now.
