Library Means Books And WiFi![]() This is the place I hang out at......a lot.
It is the small-town library 10 miles away and the most important fact is; they have wifi and secondly, books. My dial-up makes me crazy because I can't visit my friends Blogs as much as I would like to. So when the frustration gets overwhelming I need to 'go get a book' (read, I need to use their wifi). Although I do love to read so it is a dual purpose excuse. This library has the most beautiful plantings around the building, (lots of daisies :) I started out thinking I would just paint the daisies, but the library itself is very attractive so I decided to include it. What you may or may not realize is, I rarely paint any buildings not because I don't want to but they scare the heck out of me with all those lines and angles and perspectives. But I dove in and tried it and I am quite pleased with the results. I did not try a lot of detail, only the shadow on the building because I made the gardens very loose. As I look at this building it reminds me of a Frank Lloyd Wright structure. And that is the rest of the story about my frustration with dial-up and why I can't visit as often as I want. The joys of living in the country. CommentsMargaret Storer-Roche

I agree about drawing buildings-the artificial angles, perspective, and lines are not appealing to me as nature so I've not developed my drawing skill in that area. Still you do an excellent job here and the drawing looks just fine. There is a sense of presence here that is appealing; I think your fondness for the place shows through.
