Houston Light Rail Rescue

Houston Light Rail Rescue

Unfortunate situation [which could have been catastrophic] - I came home from walking my dog this evening, and in the twenty or so minutes I was gone, a woman had been hit by the light-rail on Main St. next to my apartment. Miraculously, she survived. I was able to get some photos from a rooftop as they were hydraulically lifting the train off of the tracks to remove her from underneath it.

When I saw the chaos and my friend told me what had happened, I was afraid that we were going to see them remove a body. Though no doubt horrifically unpleasant for her having been critically injured, I am glad she was able to pull through - thanks to these people who put their lives on the line every day for Houston citizens.

Houston Skyline and 1910 Courthouse

Houston Skyline and 1910 Courthouse

The lusciously lit, recently renovated Harris County 1910 Courthouse - taken on a beautifully clear, crisp, and cool evening.

There is nothing I love more than shooting nighttime architecture, so it made my evening being able to capture this magnificent, historically-renovated slice of our beautiful downtown, with great lighting conditions to do so.
