SF-88 is a former Nike Missile base in the Marin Headlands that's been restored to near-original condition.
Nike missiles were anti-aircraft weapons designed to shoot down Russian bombers. They were equipped with either nuclear or conventional warheads, and hundreds of Nike batteries were deployed around major American cities from the 1950s until the early 1970s.
