In the days of the canvas tent we (my bruv/sis) would try to upset the Punch perfomer by looking in the back flap of the tent, guess thats why he has cctv. Also see my Weymouth chip hut pic.

This was taken at the start of my walk and is Weymouth beach in the early morning after the sand has been smoothed and before the masses arrive. Not sure if this is a high tech Punch and Judy but it appears to have CCTV installed! Still, it's good to see that some traditions live on even if it is in a wooden 'hut' and not a canvas 'tent' as it used to be in my day!

On another note, Weymouth is a sandy beach as you can see but did you know that it is only just sand? Apparently the grains here are half the size of the average sand particle and if they were just 0.09mm smaller this would be classed as a silt beach and silt is a cohesive material so it wouldn't run through your toes. That's got to be good for party conversation somewhere ;-) !

This is a superb photo - I love the slightly surreal feel to it. Takes me back a bit to the days when there seemed to be a lot of surreal stuff going on around me - can't for the life of me remember why that was ;o). Sort of shot I wish I'd made.

This is why ( the sand thing ) there have always been the most wonderful sand sculptures on Weymouth beach. Not sure if they are still built but it was always a favourite place for us to take the children years ago. The sand there does not get into your sandwiches!!!
