I took this photo in 1953 to carry to my USAF duty station in St. John's, Newfoundland to show the local folks I was working with what my hometown looked like. This was taken from what we called the "Railroad Bridge", which is now condemned to automobile traffic. Hope everyone enjoys seeing it.

C&O RAILROAD COALING TOWER, RONCEVERTE, WV==

A "COALING TOWER" which held a supply of coal and the steam engines stopped on a rail siding and filled their "coal hoppers"......coal was the source of steam for driving the steam engines.....this is located in the railroad town of "Ronceverte, Greenbrier County, West Virginia, USA
