Thanks V,O,D, & A;

A- it was taken mid-April when Tibet is quite dry, although it had snowed a few days earlier. Considering we only passed this place twice, we were quite lucky to get a clear view of the summit.

Suggest you verify it by using Google Earth to get a similar 3D view as your photo - then check if shape of mountain on right is marked with a name. It has to be a peak to near north of Everest in Rongbuk Glacier region. Lixin seems likely as it is about 15kms north of Everest. Definitely NOT Ama Dablam which is on Nepal side, a different shape, & would not be visible from your vantage point.
A remarkable shot of a place I dream of visiting one day.
Figures in many early photos of treks to the area from the Tibet side.

Have done what I suggested above - checked Google Earth. Comment above by joan.rodes that peak is Lixin Peak is almost certainly correct. From location of Shigatse (53 miles NE of Everest) view of skyline nearer to Everest shows similar view as appears in photo. Peak to right of "Google View" is same shape as appears in photo and right location, plus check of my copy National Geographic 1988 map of Everest region shows it as Lixin Peak - marked as 7113 metres (23,337ft).

I think,it's the north face of PUMORI!!!But i'm not absolutely sure!!!!

Definitely NOT north face of PUMORI - It is opposite the base camps & Icefall on Khumbu Glacier on Nepalese side and hardly visible from this Tibetan view well to north of Everest. Plus it is the wrong shape. Pumori is pyramid like. View of Everest is of its North Face - not the southwest face or West Ridge. The plume of cloud from summit is being blown east - over the North East Ridge running left of picture from summit - by strong westerlies. Peak in question is nearer to camera - so Lixin seems most likely name of Peak.

I have sent you many emails to try to use this photo in a book about wave clouds, but your have not answer me yet...probably you think it is spam. The banner cloud it is a great example of extensive banner, only feasible in mountains like Everest. Please, try to leave any message in my Flickr page!
