Billabong sunrise

Billabong sunrise

Single exposure before actual sunrise over bilabong at Howard springs NT. I had two shots like this. The other shot has better reflections on the water but no stars like this one. I liked the stars.
Even at a 30 second exposure you can see movement in the stars. The slight glow at the top is from the moon.

Superb Fairywren (Malurus cyaneus)

Superb Fairywren (Malurus cyaneus)

A male Superb Fairywren, common name Blue wren, in a friends back yard in South Australia. I would have preffered him sitting on a natural perch but here he is sitting on the edge of a flower pot.
1/50 sec, f/2.8, 200 mm,ISO 200.

Howard Springs

Howard Springs

Thunderstorm over Howard Springs, Northern Territory. The setting sun is behind me. I also had my infrared camera set up at the same time but still yet to get a descent lightning shot on the IR camera. There will be plenty more chances I'm sure.

Convex clouds

Convex clouds

Water drops with cloud reflections. The orange/red colour at the top of the picture is the soil at the edge of a billabong where I took this.
. The reflection in convex water drops like these will always show the reflection the right way up except the reflection is swapped from left to right. what you see here on the right is actually on the left and vice versa. Drops hanging down will always have the reflected image upside down. Sigma 105mm macro.

Tojo at 'The Alice'

Tojo at 'The Alice'

Our traveling unit at the Alice Springs Desert Park NT. The 100 series Toyota Landcruiser diesel which I bought new in 2001 is getting very close to 250,000 km. Its been around the block a bit. Hard to believe I've done nearly a quarter of a million km's just driving about this huge land and there is heaps more to see yet.
I couldn't wish for a more reliable vehicle. The Jayco pop top is relatively new and not travelled as much.
Snapped with my infrared camera of course.
