baked pumpkin

A great autumn dish using baguette bread, Swiss and Gruyere cheese, cream, and chicken broth. Oh, and the "pie pumpkin," of course--not the Jack-O-Lantern kind. leaders in the interfaith service of Thanksgiving

The interfaith Thanksgiving service shown in the most recent photos in my photostream was held at Hanover Street Presbyterian Church in Wilmington, Delaware. This is an annual tradition that has been observed for at least a decade. The service has been hosted by several churches and a synagogue (Beth Shalom Congregation) over these years. Following 9-11, Hanover church also hosted fellowship suppers to improve interfaith understanding in those days when fear of strangers was degrading the civility and friendliness in our city. These suppers resulted in the formation of a large online community, called "Many Candles, One Light," which announces events of interfaith interest.
