This is just so impressive that it is almost
impossible for me to put it into words how
much I am impressed by this picture. You
should allow people to view a large size.
There must be so much detail in this shot. It
is just amazing.

Love the large version, immegiate favourite
as well.
Not just because it is an aging towerblock,
it the the density of people living together,
the crammedness, the urbanity everything.
Fantastic shot. I'm raving about this one.
Fantastic!
(and very glad I don't live there)

i have seen many buildings like this from the
outside on my visits to HK, i always wondered
what they are like on the inside, does anyone
know? so many lives and families must live in
there. its quite amazing to think about all
the people living inside that building.

Yes. As a trained anthropologist I longed to
get inside and see how people live. Not out
of anything voyeuristic, but to see how
people manage that space, how they arrange
their "being" and their
"having", and how they live with
each other in those spaces.

This is an intriguing shot - where in HK did
you find such a tall building in this style?
- it's almost like a composite shot, I've
never seen them this high.
wow... BIG THANKS TO ALL OF YOU!
i didn't expect this shot being loved by so
many people! it's hard for me to answer one
by one... :P so here are answers to some
specific questions:
>Life is a vapour & aaronwtong &
july☆latte
this place is in Quarry Bay! i am sure
there are some flats for rent! :P
>rysq-it
people still live there... you can see many
laundry dryng outside the windows. :D
>ballbreaker1967
yes true. life is cruel...
>terminal orbit
hahah, i think you are too tall to live
there! :P
>vjsuperlight
i am not sure how it looks inside. but i
guess the size should be narrow but the
condition might not be too bad.
>skllee2004
true! very much like Kowloon Walled City
complex!
>62Lofu
yes it's not very common for such old
building at this height! this building is
located at Quarry Bay in HK island.
>gullevek & Rod Monkey
sorry that i only allow friends to see at
large size because there are many people
stealing photos and using without consent. i
will upload a cropped version for you guys!
in addition, you can see from this photo
that some HK people used to expand their
space illegally by making their wall out of
the building. that's why the outside
composition is so different. however, the
law has been stricten nowadays. :)

In what area did you take this picture ? If
it wasn't that high, i would say it's an old
shot of the Kowloon Walled City ^^

this is almost the most amazing image in have
never seen! Very well done!!
BTW, I have some ABC question for you: what
camera do you use? and why most of your pics
are very strong contrast and seem lot of
black in the dark area? Are those special
effect or originial effect?

oh i see! see if i could find it in HK!
thanks for your recommendation! :)
>loan Sameli
thanks a lot for your comment!
i took this in Quarry Bay, Hong Kong
Island... yes the building isn't high at all,
i guess maybe around 18 stories.
true, it's a bit like Kowloon Walled City!
just a bit 'newer'! :P
>ruin_tourist
:)

thanks a lot for your comment!
i used Canon EOS 5D for this one. i set
higher contrast in my camera setting instead
of default one because i love high contrast
to make the image look more dramatic. of
course not all my photos are in such high
contrast.
but i would say that i only use 'medim
contrast' compared to other people.... since
i still want to keep the image look as
natural as it is.

This image is my favorite of all because I
feel the pain even though they dont.
