2 months to go. It's a boy - again.

2 months to go. It's a boy - again.

Finishing the painting, it's been a year for my closet turned studio.

From his Danube boats painting
Pigments: Viridian Hue, Cerulean Blue, Burnt Umber, Bright Rose, Raw Umber, Raw Sienna
Tools: Huge brush, large brush and then a tiniest brush for some lines. Finger nails for some weird marks because I was lazy to get up to get a knife.
Paper: 140CP Arches block
Size: 18 x 20 quite large for simple shapes, that was the exciting challenge for me - to be calm with large shapes.

The building close to Gendarmerie or part of it. Such ornate walls it had.

Reference pic clicked while crossing rue Soufflot, walking back on Bd. Saint-Michel.

I want to know what kind of paper this is. I printed a resume on the wrong printer - got routed to a plotter in the office. The left over paper was this kind - vellum like, but not that thick. Semi transparent with a rough texture which is awesome. Sketching with my kid's Crayola black marker and watercolor - brush round #8, blue, burnt sienna and red for the sign and tail lamps which are a bit lost.

This is the month for 'perspective' drawing and the rule is that I have to draw in the random sequence the photos got uploaded to my reference album. It is kind of refreshing - it forces me so I don't waste time choosing and makes me see the beauty in some ghastly photos I've taken.
