WEDDING: Anna + Gray

WEDDING: Anna + Gray

Anna and Gray celebrated a beautiful church wedding in Devon, tractors and carts took the guests from the church to their gorgeous family home for the reception. Greeted by sunshine and good food and good people, this day will be remembered fondly. Thank you!

WEDDING: informal formalities

WEDDING: informal formalities

I often get couples asking me for 'relaxed' photographs and portraits. I believe formal photographs don't have to be taken in a stressful / formal manner. I like to take a little time with just the bride and groom after the ceremony, pull them away from the buzz of the guests and capture them relaxing in their own company, taking advantage of whatever we find around the venue.

This Adam and Liz relaxing in the library after their ceremony in Milton Keynes.

WEDDINGS: colour

WEDDINGS: colour

Because of my photojournalistic style and background in street photography and hours spent in the dark room, I have a lot of experience with processing black and white photographs. Sometimes though, a wedding album needs colour!

The bride spends hours working on the colourway for the big day, so it's very important that their wedding photographs reflect this. I love tweaking the colours, making them all work together, making them pop. There's a lot more to wedding photography than just taking the photo, some things are just out of my control until I get the image into the editing suite.

WEDDINGS: candid moments

WEDDINGS: candid moments

Weddings are a time of romance, certainly not exclusive to the bride and groom! Friends and family all share this with people close to them, so i'm always keeping an eye open for those escaping off into their own little bubble. Sometimes it's a new spark, sometime reminiscing about their own wedding day. I love to catch these moments.

(This was beautiful moment was photographed at a wedding in Dunster Castle, Somerset)

WEDDINGS: the little details

WEDDINGS: the little details

I photographed a lot of weddings last year, the more i shot the more i realised that it wasn't just the photographs of the bride and groom that make it to the album.... it's the little details that create a day unique the them.

A lot of thought goes into these details on their wedding day... and it's so important that i can quickly set up these shots in between taking photographs of the action. This photograph was taken on Nicola's sofa with artificial lighting, while she was getting ready for hair and makeup to start.

A wedding isn't a wedding without the shoes!!
